Final session checklist

Senior Photo Session Des Moines

the final countdown

Your session is almost here!

Hooray! It’s almost time for your photo shoot. Here are some tips to help you prepare.

CLOTHING

Try things on BEFORE your session to make sure you feel comfortable. Does your outfit allow you to move? I like to pose standing, sitting, and even lying down. Flexible outfits allow for more options.

Think about the full outfit – accessorize! Don’t forget earings, bracelets, cufflinks, a belt and shoes. To get more variety…

Girls – bring a hat/scarf/sunglasses/flower headband
Guys – bring a hat/sunglasses

SKIN
I will retouch blemishes and will make you look your best, so don’t worry about minor breakouts. Guys should be clean shaven if you don’t want any whiskers to show.

GLASSES
Most glasses glare, but some lenses glare more than others (anti-reflective coating has less glare). We can work with your glasses if you have them, but you may want to consider some poses without.

MAKEUP
Girls… your makeup should not be heavier than normal, but natural. Shine can be controlled by using translucent powder that tones down shine without adding additional color, or consider using blotting sheets.

FINGERS
Not saying you have to get a full mani-pedi, but keep in mind your nails might be in some images. If you’re wearing polish, make sure it is even/not chipped.
