Preparing for your family session
I love photographing families, and I do everything I can to make the process easy.
Before your session we’ll set up a preconsult. We will discuss locations. We can use my studio or pick from a variety of outdoor choices – urban or nature – to be your backdrop.
I will also provide advice on what is most flattering to wear. Some families like to choose matching outfits for that “coordinated charm,” and some say that’s too “matchy-matchy.” There’s not a right or wrong on this, it’s what fits your style.
During a family session I normally photograph the whole family, different groupings (kids together etc), and individuals of each kid, but we will discuss this before the session as well, and tailor to what is best for you – what you want, the age of your kids etc.
Taking time to discuss these details before the day of the session helps the photo shoot day go smoothly. Everyone knows what to expect, and we can focus on getting the best images.
